The vision behind
Faunbäck Retreat
We want you to connect and relax
Come by yourself or bring somebody to share your stay with!
You can stay in our Tiny House year-round.
The house is 15 m2 and has space for 1-2 people.
The Tiny House features a small pantry for making tea & coffee. There is no running water in the Tiny House.
Just 50 meters from the tiny house, you'll have access to a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. These spaces are common areas for our guests.
You bring your own food or go to some restaurant in the area to eat.
Unique design and recycled materials
At Faunbäck Retreat, we believe in infusing soul and charm into every aspect of our tiny houses.
Each house is a unique blend of recycled materials, each with its own rich history.
For example, the flooring in our first tiny house comes from an old “Skåne farmhouse” in Österlen, while the windows were salvaged from a residential building in Copenhagen.
Sustainability and the use of natural materials have been at the core of our building philosophy. We’ve prioritized materials like wood fiber insulation, volcanic stone flooring, linseed oil paint, and other durable, eco-friendly options.
With these materials in hand, we designed and planned our first tiny house, and Daniel built it from the ground up. The process has been exciting, requiring a great deal trial and error - especially as this was Daniel's first experience building a house.
The next two tiny houses, which are houses built on a frame with wheels, are also in progress. Daniel is currently finishing the second tiny house, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
The Science
At Faunbäck Retreat, our approach is deeply rooted in research across several fields that highlight the profound impact of nature, meaningful connections, and the importance of slowing down on our overall well-being.
Nature Therapy and Shinrin-Yoku
Decades of research in nature therapy and practices like Shinrin-Yoku, or "forest bathing," have shown that spending time in nature isn't just refreshing—it's essential for both physical and psychological health. Immersing yourself in natural environments can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and improve mood. It's not just about getting fresh air; it's about reconnecting with the earth in a way that restores your body and mind.
Existential Health and Positive Psychology
Research in existential health reveals that meaningful connections—to ourselves, to others, and to nature—are vital for a fulfilling life. Positive psychology supports this by showing how practices like mindfulness, authentic relating, and meaningful conversations significantly contribute to happiness and personal growth. It's not just about talking; it's about engaging in deep, meaningful interactions that nurture our souls and strengthen our sense of purpose.
The Power of Slowing Down
In today's fast-paced world, we often overlook the importance of slowing down. Yet, research consistently shows that taking time to pause, reflect, and let both body and mind regenerate is crucial for maintaining balance and well-being.
Slowing down allows us to connect with our inherent wisdom and the natural processes of regeneration, leading to a healthier, more harmonious life.
At Faunbäck retreat we offer a space where you can reconnect with nature,
engage in meaningful experiences,
and allow your body and mind the time to regenerate.
These aren't just nice ideas, they're scientifically proven pillars of a well-lived life.
